Celibacy = the vow that priests and nuns make. As in no naughty high jinks whatsoever. Whether with a friend or by themselves.

There are plenty of things a person could do without exposing the fact that they don't have the traditional bits and pieces.

I suppose

I'm not gonna comment on what I think of my question for you all since I don't really want to influence the responses one way or the other (at least at first).
So my question is, lets say you had a girl in a sorority or a guy in a frat who had been in your chapter for lets say 2 or 3 years. In other words they have been intiated and they are relatively well known (and maybe even well liked). But then around that 2 or 3 year period it comes out that this person is transgender and has been hiding it for fear of repriasal and/or social exclusion. I think for the purposes of this we can assume they've had the surgery since idk how one could hide that for 2 or 3 years without it. I'm just curious what everyone here would do or think about this situation. Obviously its hypothetical and hasn't happened in my person life. I just was thinking about it when another one of my friends brought up to me the idea that trans people could already be in our organization and we just don't know.

how come no one QFP'ed?

ETA: OP, why do you even care? What is your point? Why are you speculating?

I just honestly wanted to know what the opinion was from the peanut gallery was. And I'm kind of big into diversity advocacy and that type of stuff. Trans stuff is something I noticed no one was talking about. Possibly even because they're afraid to even bring it up. Cause they'll crap for even talking about it. So what's the harm in bringing it up anynomously? Where I can't get weird looks in my house for defending people I think deserve to be part of us but aren't in practice allowed.

"no one is talking about" is less than accurate where it applies to Greek Chat. We have discussed it until we're blue in the face. I can't say we've come up with any long term solutions, but we've covered every possible crossed t and dotted i.

alyssa2112 09-05-2014 06:22 PM

well like my post said I'm brand new to greek chat. So obviously I didn't know

Lol, the porn comment had to do with those who think sorority women have naked pillow fights all the time. It had nothing to do with transexuality being in porn. DUH.

Google is your friend. Don't make me do it for you. I have a busy day.

Nanners52674 09-05-2014 07:13 PM

So are you in a sorority or fraternity?

You seem like the same poster in the other thread that amIBlue referenced. Why come back and start this all back up again? Why not re-read your old thread?

So I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not going not say what the chapter, sorority, or college this happened at for the privacy of all involved. Essentially what happen is we had this transgender girl rush for our sorority through informal recruitment.

If you aren't the same person, you two share the same story-telling quirk of starting sentences with "So...."

I don't know why we DON'T have naked pillow fights. Oh, because that's stupid.

They also share the same terrible ass syntax and grammar.

Celebate - A combination of celibate and celebrate.

Being extraordinarily happy about not having sex???

tld221 09-05-2014 08:15 PM

The thread amIblue? posted is from June. The OP in that thread has been on GC since 2012. The "hypothetical" person was an 18 year old girl.

3 months later, similar hypothetical situation and this "hypothetical" person is now "2 or 3 years" in the chapter. 2012 was 2 years ago. I'm smart, so I know I'm right.

Later on in that thread, the OP directly said the "hypothetical" person IS a transgender sister in her chapter, and then finally admits that, surprise, "hypothetical" sister is her.

The username scheme is similar: first name beginning with A, 4 numbers.

But now I wanna know who is SororitySock? I know one of yall know.

Do. Not. Want.

alyssa2112 09-05-2014 10:40 PM

I'm not the same person. I had never visited this site till today. But I prefaced my story by saying it was hypothetical the whole time. Like I said it was brought up to me by a friend and like a lot of things my mind kind of ran with it. Not to mention it was definatley a different question than the other person asked but yeah. I honestly have no intention of spending a great deal of time on here. I was just curious. I don't really have anything new to add after reading the other thread. So maybe I'll be on here in the future but till then thanks for all your input and the lengthy explanation in the other thread
