I'm stunned. This is difficult to process.

He made his first feature film appearance in Robert Altman's POPEYE (1980).

This film is so delightfully bizarre, I like it, I really like it.

RIP, Mr. Williams. You shared the joy of laughter with millions though you harbored demons. I hope you may laugh now; laugh well and rest in peace

I screamed when I found out. I haven't been so shocked or saddened in a long time. Something in my soul is just unsettled.

I grew up watching Mork & Mindy. I had no idea the show had finished before I was even born--I thought I had found this awesome new show no one knew about. :o

I know that he struggled through clinical depression for years. Amazing how talented artists have the ability to mask their pain. I always wish there was a way to save people from themselves...

Prayers to his wife, three kids, family and friends... :(

This is just heartbreaking. Robin Williams chose to make other people happy when he wasn't even happy himself. RIP to a wonderful actor, and prayers to his family and friends.

I'm normally not torn up about celebrity deaths, but I shead tears over this one. It hurts to think of the pain he was in when he's brought so much joy and luaghter to the world.

NPR is airing excerpts of the 2006 Terry Gross Fresh Air interview with Robin Williams. It is interesting in light of what happened.

Kiss a trillion asses, Rush Limbaugh.

I was just thinking about the comparison between him and Bill Murray this morning, because they both have 2 alimonies and a shit ton of kids.

I think if Robin Williams had held out and not done SO many things just for the paycheck, he would have been in a better mental state. If you do what you love, the money gets there.

I also think his on again off again disputes with Disney probably didn't help his reputation in studios' front offices.

One good thing has come from the shock and mourning:

More people are calling suicide prevention organizations, suicide hotlines, and mental health organizations (and citing Williams' death or saying they can relate to Williams). This is temporary and fueled by the media but we are hopefully getting closer to breaking the shame and silence.

Rush Limbaugh - have you no shame? It is firmly established that you have no brain. Or heart. Or sense. Or decency.

Makes me question if he is human.

So it's his fault? If he'd just done things differently he wouldn't of been suicidal and would still be alive?

I really, truly hope I'm misinterpreting you. He was sick with a mental illness, it's not so simple to fix. I also think it's shit to Monday morning quarterback someone's suicide.

An article about what the family is enduring gives me pause.
