In my opinion, the author isn't conveying a "we need diversity" vibe as much as "yay! Happy greek life members, who cares if their ethnicity is not what'd you typically expect."

This article presents the two as though they are equivalent, and while it does so in a celebratory manner, it's still not a good look.

No overstepping, and I apologize if I seemed accusatory.

I only see NPC chapters not having black members as a problem if they're purposely seeing to it that they don't have them. I'd expect that a typical NPC chapter's membership is a microcosm of the overall campus population, at best. Now if, hypothetically, an NPC chapter had a significant pool of black PNMs at rush consistently over the span of a few years, but its chapter is still superwhite... problem. I wouldn't throw segregation in as an automatic solution, but I'd hope the chapter would at least acknowledge it.

I'd say the same towards a hypothetical NPHC chapter that had an unusually high white interest pool expressing interest but still had an all-black membership. Again, not saying "well, just take X number and we're good" but acknowledge it.

I know what you meant and agree 100%. Each BGLO does whatever it envisions regarding "diversity." That doesn't mean that people (including some people on GC--I recall one thread in particular from the past year) should look at the predominance of "Blackness" in BGLOs and find that problematic based on our history and missions.
