Founded Oct. 24, 1909. Like AOII's Alpha Chapter, it disappeared when Barnard suspended its Greek system; and like AOII, there were enough other chapters at that point that AEPhi survived and grew.

The oldest still-active AEPhi chapter, I believe, is Delta Chapter at Adelphi.

Alpha Sigma Kappa's Alpha chapter is at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis MN, Founded in 1989

Delta Tau Delta was founded in 1858 at Bethany College, Va (now WVa).

In those days, if the Alpha closed, a new one was desiginated. The recolonized Bethany Chapter is now called the Theta-Founding Chapter.

The current Alpha Chapter is at Allegheny College -- although it has been closed and recolonized as well in later years.

The oldest continuously existing chapter is the Beta Chapter at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. That is my home chapter.

Sigma Sigma Sigma was also founded at Longwood College in Farmville, VA. So, there are 4 sororities with Alpha chapters at Longwood, and we are actually called the "Farmville Four." There is a clock on the campus, which remains today, that shows all 4 chapters on it. An original founder from both Tri Sigma and Kappa Delta were roommates as well. Tri Sigma and Kappa Delta were founded within months of each other and both are over 100 years old.

Theta Delta Chi was founded in 1847 at Union College, Schenectady, NY. Our Alpha Chapter was recolonized (not sure when, but early 1900s), so we have our Alpha Chapter.

DU was founded at Williams College at Williamstown, Mass. But unfortunately they got rid of the Greek System there.

Theta Chi was founded April 10th, 1856 at 9pm. At Norwich University in Norwich, VT (now in Northfield, VT). It is a military school, and like most military schools got rid of greek life. It was active untill 1960 so 104 years of Alpha.

Alpha Xi Delta was founded at Lombard College in Galesberg, Ill. But Lombard no longer exists, so neither does our Alpha.

Just curious ... a couple people mentioned their first chapter was called PSI or Zeta. Why weren't they called Alpha or Alpha [state]?

I am pretty sure that Lombard College is now Knox College.

Gamma Phi Beta was founded in 1874 at Syracuse University in New York. Our Alpha Chapter is still there and doing well.

Our Alpha was transferred to Knox .... and it eventually closed, but I don't know why.

My understanding is that during the depression, Lombard College closed and its students transfered to Knox. Alpha Xi Delta's Alpha chapter's charter was transfered to Knox at that time. Unforturnately our Alpha closed in 1973.

The "merger" of Lombard and Knox is reflected in the chapter name of the Pi Beta Phi Chapter as it is Illinois Beta-Delta. This reflects the Illinois Beta chapter which was at Lombard and Illinois Delta which was at Knox at the time of the "merger".

Alpha Xi Delta's oldest continously operating chapter is our Beta Chapter at Iowa Wesleyan, which celebrates it 100 year aniversary this year.

Phi Mu's Alpha chapter was at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. There is no longer a Greek system at this school either, so our Alpha chapter can't be active :(

Delta Phi Epsilon's Alpha Chapter was founded at New York University Law School. They incorporated the undergrads at some point too, because they are at NYU today. I know it may have been recolonized once or twice, but it's still there and going strong.
