sadly.... no. It was awful when it showed up.

I will be attending convention for the first time as a collegian and am picking up a formal dress tomorrow afternoon. Do any of you know how formal Feast of Roses is? Or have a reference photo of past years (other than what is on the website). Also my name is Ashleigh, I can't wait to meet all of you that will be attending!

It ranges from very formal, floor length dresses, to semiformal.

I wore a Kelly green dress that was plain, just above the knee, full skirt, with sparkly shoes and a silver beaded necklace last time and felt right at home. If you go full length, avoid something super beaded or sparkly to avoid the Miss America look.

Also, welcome to GreekChat and I hope you have fun at Convention!

Speaking of Feast of Roses dresses, I'm waffling on the one I got - there's a very good chance I'll be packing last time's dress as backup.

You'll see the gamut. I'm going formal out of necessity and role that evening. Last time I wore something that could be considered cocktail - in the "little black dress" genre.

Is there possibility for a "Greek Chat" meet up? At least for a picture?

Dee - what's your schedule looking like during the meet-up times?

Welcome to Indy, AGDs! Hope you enjoy your stay. If you have some free time, be sure to check out the various museums, the zoo, and botanical garden by Victory Field. If you are looking for entertainment or a place to eat, bypass the main part of downtown and take a quick cab ride over to Massachusetts Avenue aka Mass Ave - the Rathskeller has an awesome Biergarten and good food. Bazbeaux's Pizza? Amazeballs. Mass Ave also has a lot of local pubs and quirky shops that are worth visiting. The best shop along the street is none other than Silver in the City - owned and operated by a sister from my own G Phi B chapter! Check it out!

That she was, but I didn't meet her until Saturday's lunch when we sat next to each other and she said "You're AGDee, aren't you?"

I've seen pics of this hotel in Orlando. I don't know how we're going to keep collegians engaged in sessions and business meetings... Shoot, I don't know how I'm going to stay engaged in sessions and business meetings!

DoctorD 07-20-2014 07:27 PM

I've had the same thought.... and I've also determined that the whole family will come down and I'll stay longer.
