Hello All

Hi,

I just joined GreekChat.com today. I was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Business Fraternity at Northern Illinois University. My last College that I attended was Golden Gate University in San Francisco, where I received my MBA. Have a blessed and successful 2015!

Pitt Johnstown Greek Alumni

We've just launched The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown's Greek Alumni Council also known as the GAC....

UPJ has a rich and vibrant history of Greek organizations.

The mission of the GAC is to promote the welfare and interest of the Greek social organizations of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and their alumni.

The GAC shall encourage our members to truly embody the values upon which our individual Greek organizations were founded. The goal of the GAC will be to unite the alumni of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Greek community by keeping its members informed of and engaged with Greek issues and events, as well as University and Alumni events and endeavors.

Introduction, and a couple questions.

Howdy,

I am new to the forum.
Right now I am a junior at UCF, in Civil Engineering. I was thinking about rushing a social fraternity in the Fall, or Summer semester ( does Summer Rush?)
I just transferred here from another Florida University to be closer to home and I get more work down here. I work construction and remodel, ive done some work with Habbitat for Humanity, working on my own contracting company, and Im just a down home Southern guy. I am also 24.
Is 24 to old to rush? I never joined any Greek life because I was always to busy working to pay my rent and college, and keeping grades. The university I transferred from did not have houses on campus and it was not as big a thing. It is alot bigger here at UCF and always sounded like fun, good way to meet some guys and have a good college experience.
Any one have on advice in what chapters to look into?
Do I just show up to rush events and meet folks to decide on who to attempt to join? Is it ok to go to everybody's rush?

Thanks!

Interested in joining alpha kappa alpha

I am interested in joining alpha kappa alpha sorority. I want to join this upcoming fall which is my last semester at the university I attend. I will be graduating a semester early. I currently have a 2.6 GPA and I am also apart of several organizations on campus . What I am concerned about is that I just started volunteering this summer. I started last week and their rush is usually at then end of September. Will this be a problem and will my GPA be a problem ?

Sommat introduction

Hi, I'm Sommat ( it's a nickname, my real name is Mathieu) I'm a student in Belgium ( what the hell is this guy doing here you may ask ^^':confused::confused: ), i'm posting here because i'm curious on what fraternities and sororities are about I often hear about these and I'm wondering if it's similar to our student circles ( I'll explain this later and not on this thread ) are there any traditions? If yes, how old are these? What do you have to do if you want to join? all those kinds of question and no one around me to give an answer.
I'll be glad to explain what we are doing here in Belgium in exchange ^^
( ps: sorry if I made some mistakes in my english it's been 3 years since the last time I spoke :p )
