I get into that convo with many GDI's. Most of us members find out that someone who we never thought was Greek really is. Just because all members do not wear a big t-shirt with their letters on it 24/7, doesn't mean they don't exist.

It is really amazing, that most all GDI's feel this way, well maybe not! After we graduate and get in the real world, we still do so many things to help other people as that is what we learned and did in college! We did it for recognition and to be envolved with our Brothers and Sisters!
Understand, as a GDI, most of them did not interact with but a few people they met. We on the other hand had people around us to do with and go with.
I know in the case of my house we had Brothers that were shy, but if you knew of the positions they have now it is great! YES WE ARE DIFFERENT because we do but do not flaunt it!

It makes me mad when GDI's have no idea what they are talking about. Sure, there are individual organizations that should be wipped off the face of the planet, but for the majority of us, we help the community a lot... The problem is, WE DON'T REPORT WHAT WE DO... so it goes unnoticed... I don't believe in doing stuff to get noticed, but to get the bad stereotype off our back we need to get noticed. I know my chapter of SigEP is planning something real big and of course, we aren't doing it for public notice, we're doing it to help less fortunate people. Hopefully what we do (which I am assuming it will have this effect) will change the image of Greeks in my community. Anyhow.. talk to you later.
