Our chapter, like most (all) on campus, has a sweetheart, who is very loyal and dedicated to our chapter. He's someone who supports us/is willing to help out/is friends with a lot of sisters, etc, who is elected by popular vote. However, I've also heard of chapters doing a Xi Man competition, which I think is more along the lines of what you're talking about. A popular event on campus is Alpha Phi's King of Hearts. Perhaps you could do something like that/call it something like that?

ETA: however, a sweetheart and the winner of a competition I would think are different things. Also, sweethearts are not (commonly) associated with philanthropy. As DubaiSis said, if it's philanthropy that you are really after, you could probably go in a different and more effective direction. Example: for the first time we hosted a 5k and raised over $15,000 with runners/sponsors.

I think she's talking about national bylaws, not chapter bylaws.

Is it a gay Fraternity?

It's a sorority, Tom.

lindseyne, if most of the other sororities on campus are already doing similar things, I think you'd be much better of doing something else that sets you apart, not just another Mr. ______ competition. I echo what DubaiSis said about finding out what other chapters do for your philanthropy and involving people outside the Greek community.
