What?!?! No http://www.plaudersmilies.de/oink.gifly Wigglys??!?!!? Shoot!

I am really looking forward to my move.
Oh another question, I see you all have recommended South and Southeast sections of Charlotte but NOT Southwest? Any reason!??

The SW part can be a little iffy, to be a little Politically Correct. Some parts are ok. The parts near going towards Pineville (I think that's SW) in the Carolina Place Mall area is pretty cool, but expensive as heck. I work on the SW side. That's also where they found "Ray Ray's" car (Kings of Comedy - Steve Harvey's reference to Rae Carruth).

Girrrrrl, coming down south, we don't see Piggly Wiggly's unless it's in SC or some of the smaller towns (like Pinetops, NC...).
Where I grew up, we had a Red & White, but I've never seen another one of those. Also, in O'burg, we had a Roses (similar to Walmart).

HAIR & TAX

To TickledPink and any other Charlottonians, Queen City Dwellers:

You KNOW I need to know about hairstylists as well as nail technicians in the Queen City.

How much do they charge for touch ups down there?
Ideal08 and LOVERMAN are not coming with me so I need to know who can hit my B da B's.

WHAT IS the TAX in CHARLOTTE?!?!!? I really need to know. Columbus is 5.75% but 10 A C is 8.25%

My Own Personal Little Update

Everyone has been PMing me and asking me about Charlotte -- I really appreciate that, it's good to know that even if people don't always reply they are reading my posts.

I will be visiting Charlotte next week and the job fair is a week from tomorrow. I have my resume all "ret ta go":p as well as my transcripts and stuh.

I have this one complex that I REALLY REALLY want to live in -- a little more expensive than I want but I WANT IT WANT IT WANT IT!!

Thanks once again for the inquiries on my relocation and stuff. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I will be praying the Prayer of Jabez that a Kappa friend shared with me this week so that God will grant me the desires of my heart that are in his will.

PRAY THAT I FIND A SUIT TO WEAR TO THIS JOB FAIR too.

6% tax and 7% on fast foods.

I don't like hairstylists too much (sorry) unless it's a braider. A good place to get braids is Moyhe's on Central. She's a bit expensive, but her results are niiiiice. The last time I asked a stlyist about a touch up, they were charging about 55.00->.

I don't do nails too often either (no time....). But usually it's 25.00 for a full set and 15.00 for a fill in.

 on nails.
 on hair.
  on taxes -- fast food.

Thanks for the info. Grew up with that 7% tax -- maybe this will cut down on my eating out.

I made it

Hey y'all I am in Charlotte.
Glad to see GC has not had any drama or at least DST has not.

I like what I see so far -- Charlotte.
I had a safe trip too. :)

My little Update

I was not impressed by job fair in terms of overall but there
were 2 schools I talked to that I wanted a chance with. Well I got
home about 2 hours ago and there were 2 messages from the one
school. I met with the AP on Saturday who was an AKA. She called me
first and then the head principal called. Y'all the only thing they
saw was my resume -- I prepared my phat little portfolio and no one
saw it.:(

I have a phone interview tomorrow. Wish me luck. I was ready to
look @ other states.

Pray that the housing options improve because what I saw that was in
my budget depressed the hell out of me.

I am now more excited again like I was on my way down to charlotte but y'all the apartments in Charlotte and the rates   are enough to make me lose my mind.

Well, I said a lil prayer for you. I hope everything works out for you. If it's meant for you to be in the QC or in NC, then everything will fall into place...if not, there's something better in the making.
If the Charlotte cost of living is too high, what about other cities in NC?....like Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro?

Phone Interview TODAY

Hey GC Family,

My phone interview is in 56 minutes and counting for the school I really really really want to be at.

So if you are reading this, just say a little prayer for Carla/CT4 -- God knows who I am. :)

I will come back with my results AS SOON AS I CALL MY MAMA/get a job offer. :D

Rain Man 06-04-2002 02:38 PM

CT4, you just gon up and leave on me w/o sayin' goodbye? Fine, then!!

CT$, w/only 28 minutes until your interview, I will do a quick intercessory prayer for you that you get this job.

On a lighter note, can I see you one last time before you depart? Nothing formal or fancy, but the only time you saw me was at First Fridays doing my Gene Kelly/Fred Astaire thang, and at last year's Delta ball when a white lady asked if you (or one of your sisters) was chaperoning a senior prom. :D BTW, some airline pilots going to their hotel room asked me what was the big event and I replied that it was a Delta ball. They said great, 'cause they were with Delta Airlines.;)

Anyway, good luck on your interview and hit me back 'cause I want to see for the last time "the talkinigest sista this side 'o Greekchat":D

It went well. I could FEEL the power of prayers so THANK YOU.
I had to e-mail him my references again so NOW PRAY THAT THEY answer the phone, give him a favorable review of my abilities, and that he calls me back ASAP. :D
