Great Britain looks like a college girl trying to dress sexy for Halloween, and Peru looks like a rainbow threw up all over a two-headed cowgirl.

And as the first comment on the link says, "You had ONE JOB America..."

Seriously.

Awful.

I just feel bad for the many peacocks who died for those atrocious costumes.

And what's the point of the fake baby strapped to Miss Peru's costume?

One word: Curaçao. That is all.

Many of them were wtf, but the Netherlands especially. What was wrong with actual traditional national costume instead of something that looks like a showgirl piece?

That outfit was so strange! The "traditional Dutch clothing" you usually see is only worn in one small region though, never nationally.
And the traditional dressing here is covered up from ears to toes, with extra sturdy scarves on top, and they got in trouble from trying to make it sexy a few times before.

I know why Curacao used this design, the lizard is used in their advertising for vacations a lot. Doesn't make it a charming outfit though.

Curaçao may not be charming, but she is cracktabulous!

Miss Peru was babywearing! It's part of a lot of cultures, Peru being one of them. I thought it was awesome. But, that could be because I wear my son... ;)

(hijack) I want to, but I have this huge fear of tying the sling wrong and baby just falling out. (/hijack)

Just practice at home, and watch lots of youtube videos. You really get used to it quickly! There is a learning curve, but it's fantastic to be able to go places with your baby and still have two hands free. :)

I'm watching the pageant now.. what a horrible choice for a musical guest.. Panic at the Disco singing about "where will you wake up in the morning" and that other awful song..
Not to mention that he sounds like a teenage amateur. It's just bad all-around.

Doesn't bring the level of class I would expect from Ms Universe.

TPA85 11-17-2013 12:59 AM

I also don't like when people clap for themselves. They must be instructed to do it but I think it looks tacky. That may just be me, I don't know.

ETA: If you're 4th, 3rd, or 2nd Runner Up, they sure do get you off stage really quickly. It had the feeling of "ok, you lose, GTFO now."

And it"s over so my commentary is done ;-)

Curacao's National Costume tag-teamed with the Costumes from Jamaica and Bolivia behind local weatherpeople during hours of live, televised Storm Team Coverage today. Beautiful radar hues represented dangerous, wicked weather conditions. As they used to say during Johnny Carson's show, More To Come...
