Hi!

Okay, first of all, I APOLOGISE for my misconceptions. You must realize, I've only watched two shows about frats, animal house and the skulls (which is more about a secret society).

So as you can imagine, my perceptions are really skewed. And of course, as it was my first post in this forum, I decided to be a bit silly. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Okay, I stand corrected about greeks.

By the way, I am Malay, but I was not brought up in a malay environment. I dont speak malay and am not muslim, which most malays are.

I think greeks are cool.

Here in Singapore, my school has something like a fraternity. We have a ragging, which is something like hazing, where we interrogate and splash food on the newbies.

Like greeks, we are selective, and secretive. We dont tell people about what we do and stuff.

Now that's just sad. You want to join a fraternity just based on watching Animal House and the Skulls and after knowing about the Singapore "fraternity" experience. You want to join an American fraternity b/c you want those experiences??? Prof, that is more like it! If you stay on Greek Chat, you will find that we are very serious about our individual Houses, but we in the same vein are all Greeks and hold our ideals very high. Yes there are situations that screw things up and it is a reflection on the whole Greek Community! My House LXA has had verying members in our house and we all learn from each other! I hope you find the right group to associate with and have avery happy experience.
