I suggest that you contact the head advisor of the UIUC chapter if you can find out who she is(maybe listed on their chapter website), or you can contact whatever regional officer APhi has over collegiate chapters in your area of the country. (In ZTA those officers are called province presidents. A province president would have several collegiate chapters that answer to her.) Either of those alumnae should be able to help you. You may have to contact your headquarters to get their contact info. Too many times collegians seem to drop the ball, what with all their time constraints, so I wouldn't rely on the chapter president.

Go through your headquarters. I know my sorority has a whole system in place for distance support of chapters. Yours probably does too!

I love the Internet! I went to my headquarters site, filled in my résumé and got a message from the chapter advisor (I think) the next day. They need a financial person and I'm a CPA. I hope we can make it all work because I'm very excited to volunteer. Thank you all for the direction and encouragement.

We lost KU due to MANY reasons. The incident referred to early in this thread was a really tragic situation that definitely put the nail in the coffin for the chapter. However, prior to that, they were having multiple issue. In those days, our national leadership did not have the same philosophy or insight in how to help struggling chapters. When it closed it was handled poorly and many alumnae in the surrounding area were beside themselves. It has taken many, many years for people to forget or forgive. Many of us are so hopeful about another opportunity to come back to KU. Nationally, we are equipped to come back strong and face any challenge in a much more strategic and compassionate fashion.
