I can see that someone thought, "wow, what a great way to display our wonderful badge!" but the thinking process didn't go quite far enough. T-shirts get ripped, fade, and otherwise ruined. Some get sent to Goodwill or another place which accepts old clothing.
I know that several, if not most, GreekChatters are not in favor of seeing their letters on someone not directly involved with your fraternity or sorority. My own take is a little different: having read what our founders thought of charity, I'm sure that they would have preferred that someone without clothing would be given an Alpha Delta Pi shirt to wear. But this is MY thinking, and YMMD. That said, I think that one should never let one's t-shirt displaying fraternal crest or pin/badge fall into another's hands, and due to the disposable nature of t-shirts, a pin shouldn't appear on one. |

I know it's not this cut-and-dried, but I notice the guys who have weighed in don't seem to have as much problem with it as the women do who have weighed in do. |
Oh. I was expecting something like those awful sorority platform heels, or letters on a thong.
I had a very nice golf shirt with the badge embroidered over the heart. Different strokes I suppose. |

Re the OP, I think this t-shirt is kind of neat, actually. |
AOII doesn't allow the badge to be printed on any items other than official ritual gear so this would never happen. I'd love to have something with the superimposed letters, but alas, it won't happen. We have to be happy with a rose or a panda bear.

Our brand standards don't permit the crest to be placed on sweatshirts or t-shirts. That would be why KSUViolet06 is opposed. |
^^^Yep.

This thread is kind of funny (in the interesting way, not comically).
I clicked the link and went "Oh, cool. I kind of want one!" |
I just think it looks tacky.

Also, I know several people who use their badge as their Facebook profile pic (generally around badge day)...with some of the crap people post on Facebook, that's a worse use IMO. I'd rather them wear it on a t-shirt. |

Although I do think Alpha Xi's Quill would look bad on a t-shirt and therefore I would not buy it. |
