I'm actually surprised the police weren't called in this case. I would have thought this girl was unstable, and I would have definitely called the police.. or at least threatened to do so.

This is an 8 minute video. It's not as if she walked in, complained, received a free donut and coffee and walked back out.

I'd like to think that I'd even make that phone call if I was just one of the customers in the store.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not blaming anyone who was working at DD that day. I just think that in such a situation, getting the police involved (or at least threatening to do so) wouldn't be completely irrational.

Someone who's that crazed over a receipt needs help. I can't tell if she's seriously mentally unstable or just a b*tch. I've seen both working in retail.

I give you the money, you give me the donut. END OF TRANSACTION.

Probably would have referred her to the manager and been done with it. Short of that, if he was going to honor her order, she'd have had to produce a receipt from yesterday.

At least they had the good sense to be in DD and not KK, though. Never understood American's misguided fascination with KK.

Wait. What? I thought this whole thing was because she didn't get a receipt yesterday.

But I had my volume turned way down, so I may have misunderstood.

You're right. skip the recipt part. Still would have just referred her and her beligerence to the manager to resolve the matter.

lol
Welp, just goes to show what her background looks like. She was already disrespectful long before she got to the Dunkin Donuts guy.

I feel like half the people anymore don't want the receipt anyway. I probably wouldn't notice if I received a receipt or not.

Why? Not sure if you mean this literally, but if you do, just because you or somebody else ended up in a shitty job you don't like, doesn't mean other folks should be in it.

I feel you. I would have to pass on anything retail, because I know I wouldn't last past the first customer that was rude as hell. If I was that Dunkin Donuts dude, I would have cussed her ass out into next year, and then after I was done, I would have said "Now post that shit on facebook, bitch!"

I did work a retail job at Target when I was in college. I got fired for that very reason. I cussed dude out, and then told him I was going to whoop his ass outside LOL. I got termed real quick. It was cool, because sorry ass retail jobs are easy to get and easy to quit.

See, I'm totally the other way and think it incredibly odd when clerks ask "Do you want your receipt?"

Of course I do. Why would I walk off with no proof of my transaction, and no proof I was charged correctly during the exchange?

Because a donut and coffee just isn't that serious...

I believe you totally missed the point here. He's not mad that he had a "shitty job" and thinks everyone should be miserable. Everyone should work one so that they appreciate what dealing with customers is like... so that they don't act all crazy like this whacko in the video.

He's not looking to pass a law requiring it or anything.

Well, for one, the determination of the "seriousness" of the transaction probably best belongs to the person actually in it.

And secondly, for a person in the habit of receiving receipts at the conclusion of a transaction, it is indeed, odd, not to get one.

*this is not meant as a defense of the behavior of the woman in the thread, but generally speaking.

He's not looking to pass a law requiring it or anything.

That's why I said "literally" or not.

So based on what I'm reading here, you're saying that folks who haven't worked retail, should, so they can see what it's like. That way, they won't lose their cool because they would have more of an understanding of what it's like dealing with a rude customer. That's what I'm reading.

I call bullshit on that, too. Folks are going to be rude as hell regardless. There are several people who have never worked retail and they wouldn't treat somebody the way that bitch in the video treated dude.

To add to what I just said, and this is just random. It's people that make or break a job. Retail is shitty to most because they are dealing with so many different and rude attitudes, and those same folks are assholes regardless of what kind of job they had/have.

Mizeree I2K 06-11-2013 05:29 PM

Different strokes for different folks, but why in the hell would somebody need a receipt for a goddamn donut? For real.
