I have naturally curly/wavy hair (depends on how humid it is and the products I put in my hair). I put a little extra conditioner in my hair and don't rinse too much. Them I put Curls Rock serum in it and let it air dry. It usually turns out ok. I work outside though, so by the end of the day, my hair is a fright.

My stylist recently introduced me to Agadir Argan oil - it works really well for me! It tames the frizz without weighing my hair down.

My sister (lives in NOLA) and I (live inBham) both have thick wavy hair. Love it or shave it. Seriously, my sister has gone with the Keratin Express treatment and loves it. I can't afford that and have tried Living Proof and every other smoother on the market and none work for me. I can blow it out, concrete it in with hairspray and go mow the grass and have ringlets by the time it's over.

I was going to say, if you can afford a Keratin treatment and want to wear it straight, do it. I've had a "light" Global Keratin and it made my curls much less frizzy in the summer.

I have wavy/curly hair that frizzes in humidity. Suave makes a Whipped Creme/Mousse for curly hair. I love it. :)

I second the Argan Oil. Make sure you get the front of your hair last, and then you're good to go. I've had people ask me how my hair still looked smooth at the end of the day when everyone else's has gone frizzy.

Tips??

Loving this thread...

I have fine hair that I can get to go straight at altitude. However in places like Cape Cod, it frizzes out within an hour of straightening.

To straighten I use Tigi bedhead products and Paul Mitchell serum.

I will be traveling to South East Asia soon. I have fine hair and a lot of it that curls like crazy at humidity. I look like a blonde poodle/labridoodle.

Any tips?

I have have tried Aveda curl products but they don't do much.
I have authentic Moroccan Argan oil from Morocco. However, it weighs my hair down and makes it look greasy.

Thanks!

I have the hair that everyone who irons their hair would die for. And I hate it. It's too straight and flat and there is so much of it! Thankfully it became less thick once I got into my 30's. But I always have perms. Humidity never frizzes the curl thanks to various serums (my hair doesn't seem too picky).

My advice, especially for a short term visit is love your hair how it is naturally. I'd use a smoothing serum to keep down frizz, but seriously, it takes a teensy amount. Start at the back of your hair and work toward the front. But after the initial touch it's going to seem like there's nothing on your hands anymore. Just go with it and don't add more! Then put it in a clip, pony tail or headband and be done with it. Presuming you're not running for Miss America in Atlanta, I would shoot for not embarrassing and forgive yourself for an extra curl or wave that's out of place.

ETA/In Southeast Asia, the humidity is going to be the least of your issues. You will want to pull your hair up and off your face. You're also going to want a hat because you will likely get rain, and lots of it and umbrellas will just be annoying. I look horrible in hats, but it's worth finding one you can tolerate, and a big brim all around is better than like a baseball cap. And don't forget sunscreen and bug spray!

A Brazilian blow out will work.

Sockbun. Your hair will be out of your face/off your neck and that thing won't move all day.
