Almost! Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord, an AOPi from the University of Alabama, was first runner up.

Miss Texas Alexandria Nugent, a student at Collin College, was fourth runner up (sorry, I don't see any NPC sororities there?)

The new Miss USA is Miss Connecticut Erin Brady, an honors graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

So apparently this new Miss USA lives in my hometown in CT. I should go bust out one of my stepsister's yearbooks to see if she's in there. So random. I didn't know we did pageants for real in New England.

Wow. Maryland last year and Connecticut this year? The Deep South/Texas Pageant Machine must be in full blown crisis mode. ;)

Miss Teen USA is also from Connecticut this year. I imagine the pageant machine is having a conniption as we speak! And the good people of Connecticut (Connecticians? Conneticites?) probably don't care, for the most part, because pageants are just not important in New England.

My mom and I pronounce this as connect-a-cuties, but I am not sure if that's right;) The internet says either Connecticuters or Nutmeggers.

I have always know it as "Nutmeggers". My cat is actually named Nutmeg as a sort of wink to Connecticut.
