The Service Greeks (Alpha Phi Omega, Gamma Sigma Sigma, Omega Phi Alpha, etc.) may or may not fall under here. While Alpha Phi Omega is a member of the Professional Fraternity Association, Baird's has had APO & GSS in the recognition socities (along with Intercollegiate Knights and SPURS).

Actually, Sigma Alpha Iota is not a professional organization. We were granted an exemption from Title IX because we were deemed a social organization. Had we been deemed a professional organization, we would have to initiate men in our collegiate chapters. Our fight against Title IX is detailed in the centennial history book.

Essentially, we are a social organization with a special interest in music.

Does this allow members of SAI to be members of other organizations as well? For example, can you be both a Sigma Kappa, and SAI?

Yes.

^^^As naraht said, yes, members of SAI can also be members of social sororities. I, myself, hold dual membership in SAI and Alpha Gamma Delta.

I am a sister of SAI and DPhiE! :) As well as Beta Sigma Phi.

Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc is a professional org for women who have served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces. Active duty, reserves, retired, veteran and ROTC cadets are eligible. I was initiated this weekend :)

What a great idea for a sorority. Congrats on your initiation into Kappa Epsilon Psi. And thank you for serving our country.

Does Kappa Epsilon Psi have a membership badge? And if so, are you able to post an image of it? Thanks.

One thing in this forum is to try and identify groups. Ever since the last edition of the Bairds Manual was published in 1991, there have been dozens of groups to pop up, and I would like to be able to identify as many as possible. And Im curious of groups being founded in the 1990s or later, are they using badges or pins?

We do, but it's not a personalized badge. It's more of a hat pin style and it's just our crest. I'll try to upload a picture of mine later, but here's our crest:

**edit** Sorry for the poor image quality. I have a "dumbphone" and pics aren't that great.

Thats ok, being able to put a "face" to the name really helps.

Amanda,

Given the crest, is it correct to assume that the sorority is limited to Christians, uses largely Christian symbolism or neither?
