I think Michael Jackson had vitiligo, which is a skin disease.

:( I hate to think of someone changing their natural skin color to such an excessive extreme, be it by excessive tanning or bleaching.

Michael Jackson SAID he had vitiligo, but that's not what it looks like. With vitiligo you are blotchy, like huge pink freckles against white skin.

And yes, people will bleach their skin, head to toe, with product that is well known to be cancerous. And the effect is really ugly. The Filipina gals would bleach their skin and the result would be that they looked like they had Downs Syndrome. I wondered if they thought learning disabled was better than brown.

In the contest, there were very few black or even medium brown colored skin on contestants who likely should have been. I think it's hard to try to make people believe you are not a lesser person based on the color of your skin if you kill yourself to not be that color. Miss St. Lucia was one outside the norm and she was beautiful. And there was no mistaking her for anything but black.

Missed the pageant this year, but one can say with certainty the same few countries usually have women in the Miss Universe Top 15 (or whatever Top Number they currently use).

How strange it would be to have Top Ten consisting of Miss Belize, New Zealand, Ivory Coast, Poland, Aruba, Finland, Iceland, Morocco, Dubai, and Ecuador.

I tried looking into it but I don't think Olivia Culpo was in a sorority.
