Not aimed at you at all, mcp, but I just can't let it go without comment:

Holy Shades of Newspeak, Batman! I have a hard enough time with "media center," but this just makes me cringe.

Universities should know better.

I understand where you are coming from, I do.

I joined ADPi at one school, transferred and was unable to affiliate at my new school. It sucked seeing my sisters walk around and doing fun stuff. It sucked even more when I wasn't even acknowledged as an ADPi when I would wear my letters on campus.

That being said, I didn't let it dominate my life. I found other things to occupy my time. Eventually, I realized that I wasn't going to school to be an ADPi, I was going to school to get a degree.

Now, I did go to school as an 18-22 year old, so my experience is a bit different. But on the other hand, I am taking prerequisite courses to return to school for my BSN. I am looking at schools that have chapters, because then I know there will be an alumnae association for me to join. As a 33 year old, I have no desire to join a collegiate chapter, been there done that. I would want to join an alumnae association though, and help the chapter when needed.

I have to agree with what a few women have said and suggest some counseling. You can't change what happened with your recruitment. You also can't change the fact that you are 29. You are a non-traditional student.
