This is all a ridiculous publicity stunt. I'm not saying people aren't actually losing their jobs, because that part sucks, but I am pretty damned sure that the private investor who is buying the recipes and has a plan in place to continue making Twinkies et al is behind all the driving up of prices, ebaayy auctions and such.
Don't believe the hype. |

On another note, Little Debbie is still alive and kickin' for those that need their Hostess-esque fix. lol Quote:

I heard on CNN today (so it MUST be true) that a Mexican company is looking at buying it.
For my part, while I've eaten a few Twinkies in my life, it's been years and I only mourn the loss of the jobs, not the product. I'm waiting for this to all circle back around to Bain Capital. On the other hand, there was a Wonder Bread factory in my home town, and how was I to know that everyone didn't grow up with that heavenly smell wafting through downtown, making a trip to the post office worth it. I wouldn't eat the bread on a bet now, but that smell, well that's a different thing. |

I eat my fair share of junk food (okay, probably more than my fair share), but I have absolutely no problem turning down pre-packaged "cakes" like Twinkies, Ding Dongs or Tastekakes. I have yet to come across one that tastes like real food. |

Yes! There used to be a Mrs. Baird's bread factory on Central Expressway and Mockingbird in Dallas. If I ever drove by, I'd roll down my window - even in winter- to smell that great smell. |

LOL - Watch it now! I would bite you over a Nutty bar or a Star crunch. |

I think Swiss Cake Rolls are way better than HoHo's. And those Oatmeal Creme cookies... yummmmmmmm.

Never have I ever... eaten a Twinkie.
Zebra cakes are where it's at. |
