I'm very excited about this and so proud of the efforts of our collegiate chapters and alumnae associations! Autism Speaks and Alpha Xi Delta is listening! :)

Have to share this little snippet from my lovely Kappa chapter: http://www.wicd15.com/news/top-stori...vid_6099.shtml
So proud of my chapter sisters! ETA: LOL @ news lady who is tripping over saying "Alpha Xi Delta". She tried :) |
Actually, she pronounced it the traditional way! That's the way the old broads in my chapter always said it. The Zee pronunciation I think must date from the 50's or so. Technically I think it is supposed to be XCEE. Or used to be, but holding people to that pronunciation standard would be an exercise in futility.

There was an alumna.... and if I remember correctly, someone who was on national council, who pronounced it that way a few years ago at convention. tripped me up, because I thought it sounded silly. But to each their own. I'll stick with ZEE because it sounds more fun to me that way.

I like Xsee, but it is a really hard sound to get right, and people would look at you like you had 2 heads, so not a fight worth having. The same is not true about spelling it as Z, which I can't tolerate.
