Dachshund? Not so bad. German Shepherd? 4th layer of hell. We had a section of the yard set aside for him to do his business. I imagined that was what quicksand looks like. |

I hated snapping green beans or any garden work that was tedious. My grandmother used to get us to shell peas, snap beans, take the stems off strawberries and blackberries. I loved the way she cooked and the jelly she made, but I HATED the time-consuming little pain-in-the-butt jobs!
Looking back, I do treasure that time spent with her, but I still hated the specific jobs! |
Cleaning the bathroom. It's STILL my least favorite chore! But at least I live alone so it's not as bad now.

Ironing. My mother was obsessive in getting every single wrinkle out especially with sleeves.
Vacuuming also. I could never tell the difference when I was younger. Now I do, but back then it seemed so pointless especially with a dog. |
I'm no longer a kid, but things haven't changed. All of the above, heh.
I LOATHE dishes; I paid my sister to do my share back in the day. Now I wash them a couple of times a week (mentally complaining all the while) and use them out of the drainer/washer. I have a housekeeper now and I live alone in a one-BR apartment; she does the bathroom, kitchen, floors, sheets, vacuuming, dusting, and general heavy cleaning. I love her, pay her well, and encourage her to bring her (adorable) kids (so child care is never a problem). I don't mind washing and folding laundry, but I HATE putting it away; it happens right before the housekeeper arrives. |
