I talked to my advisor and that's exactly what I'm doing actually, taking 12 credits at the moment! My favorite study spot is in the Grad, up in the antisocial 4th floor cubicles. Its seriously the perfect spot. My Rho Omega told me that grades are only a small part and if the girls like me and I make sure to show determination and academic progress, it doesn't hurt to at least check out a mixer so I might do that. Academics are definitely my number one priority. Thank you all so much, you're all such a big help! :)

Are you allowed to replace any of your grades from semester you got the 1.9? Some universities allow you to replace Ds or Fs with the new grade if you retake the class, some just allow you to average the two grades. It could also make a huge difference in your GPA, especially if you just have a year's worth of credit hours.

Your sense of humor is going to serve you very well. :) I really encourage you to set up an appointment with an advisor right away. UM can be pretty overwhelming and you just need to find what works for you. Also, I found that hiding away in the stacks of the Grad was a good way to focus--I used to study in the Law Library, but I would check out who came in every time the door opened! ;) Good luck and Go Blue! :)

Those were my favorite spots, too. The Law Library makes you feel like you're at Oxford or Cambridge.

Another good suggestion is the Med. School library...very quiet.

Do they still call the undergraduate library the UGLI? It really was.

Thank you so much, IndianaSigKap! I didn't even know if that was an option, I'll make an appointment with my counselor right away to figure that out.

Haha yes, Sciencewomanm they call the undergrad the UGLI. It recently underwent some renovations so its not as "ugli" anymore, but its always packed full of people. Thank you for the suggestions though! I'll have to try the med school, I haven't even considered that!
