Yes, this is the Phi Tau - Alpha chapter. Their national headquarters are also located in Oxford.

If I remember right, Alpha of Sigma Chi got the boot at MU too.

I think you are right. I must say, Miami doesn't seem to mess around when it comes to kicking off groups that have members behaving badly.

Yes, Alpha of Sigma Chi got kicked off at Miami.

I went to Miami (and coincidentally, lived in an off-campus house with five Phi Taus junior and senior year). I've found Miami's Greek community to be extremely high-functioning in comparison to the many other campuses I've worked with in my capacity as an international volunteer in the six years post-graduation. I believe that chapters at Miami are, on the whole, behaving about the same as chapters across the country -- it makes more news because the university and Greek community are so quick to crack down on it.

For the record: Sigma Chi HQ pulled the charter of our Alpha chapter.

More news about Phi Tau. They are suing Miami U(OH) for $10 million.

Update: Charges have been brought. They seem to be, in the main, for drugs and drug paraphernalia. Relatively few for fireworks. See article for individuals' names and charges:
