Could be a code, member rank etc or even for a chapter that was added after the book was published.

The description is too spot on to be a coincidence.

thank you BADGEGUY for the info, without that book this wouldve been a needle in a haystack.

i am going to see if i can get a list of chapters formed after 1912 and see if i can match the text to one of them.

So, just saw you listed the coin on eBay. Just curious, what makes you think it's worth $999? Old badges from national collecgiate fraternities and sororities don't often go that high.
