A few weeks!!!!! Definitely not good for my instant gratification side.

Crossing fingers that there's a Hello-Aloha for Alpha Delta Pi! At least, that there's a chance for one!

I can't wait for another Carnation Nation story!!

TNAuburnMom 08-19-2012 07:09 PM

Yay! I love Carnation Nation Stories. I cannot decide whether to root for a legacy or for her to branch out and get you one step closer to having an entire Panhellenic Convention in your kitchen.

carnation 08-19-2012 07:21 PM

She has known a member of one of her non-legacy sororities all of her life and has worked with a member of another non-legacy sorority for the last 3 years. She should be meeting members of other groups at all of these pre-recruitment activities.

We wonder where she'll end up!

I can't wait to read more!

Ti-Leaf Hula Skirts
Scarlet Uli-Ulis
Fragrant Plumeria Lei
Hawaii Aloha (music)

But, of course, she'll be keeping an open mind...right?

Oh, I see what you're saying. Those 4 names don't stand for any particular sorority yet, they just stand for 4 groups. We hope she'll get 4 back on that first day of invitationals and if she does, I'll assign one of the names to each group.

AlphaFrog 08-23-2012 09:04 AM

Therein lies the confusion. It seemed like you'd already assigned the groups and were stating favorites. You were just hoping you get to use all four names. It read funny to me, but i now see what you meant.

So Tallulah travels to her college today! They'll have several meet-and-greet activities for the freshmen in the next few days. Her recruitment counselor left a message on my phone, thinking that it was Tallulah's number, saying that they would be having a meeting to explain what recruitment was and that PH would be having a fashion show demonstrating what to wear. Uh, I think we have all that covered.

TNAuburnMom 08-23-2012 08:52 PM

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when her Pi Chi asks if anyone in her family is Greek.

carnation 08-23-2012 09:03 PM

Or:

Does anyone know how recruitment works, with invitations and stuff?
Has anyone heard of any of these sororities?
Guess what happens on Philanthropy Day!

etc. I was just thinking of stuff I've forgotten to warn her about. Like if you know the song the sisters are singing, don't join in. (She might think you're supposed to.)

We honestly have no clue what she'll do because we've tried to be Panhellenic. Will she choose one of her legacy groups? Or one that her longtime friends belong to? Or will she decide that the whole thing will take too much time from her major (which does require a lot of time) and opt not to go Greek?
