Yes, James, I like him. We have been close friends for a little over five years. But I don't "like him like him" as my middle schoolers say. I know him too well for that.
He has not yet broken up with her. He actually asked me if I thought that lying to the ex, saying he had broken up, and then seeing her as much as possible before she found out was a good idea. I rolled my eyes and finished my ice cream. I told him that he reminds me too much of a Dawson's Creek episode. I'm just glad that the drama is his and not mine. :D |
Ok, so an update. Two weeks ago- He told ex that he broke up with gf. They then officially started being a couple. He told gf that he was going out of town for the weekend, and left a day early to stay with new-gf prior to leaving. He then missed flight and had to sneak around to stay at his own house because he was worried gf would crash there while he was gone. He then alternated the two women for a week.
Then last weekend, he told gf he was going out of town for the weekend due to family emergency and had new-gf come stay at his house for the weekend. He got away with it. Then last Tuesday night he stayed at gf's house. New-gf texted him "goodnight sweetie" and gf saw it. She kicked him out, then went over to his house the next night "to talk" and they broke up. He is now seeing new-gf, and says he is very happy. This weekend he really did do out of town.....at least his story was consistent to everyone. I've stocked up on popcorn and soda, cause this is unfolding like a romantic comedy. |
I'm rooting for karma in this story.
