So, was there this THING? How do you feel about sequins?

Greek_or_Geek? 06-20-2012 11:07 AM

I only want to know when people are finally going to stop throwing out the word bully every time someone in their life says something critical or disagrees with them?

Wow, I'm glad things worked out for you, but what a hot mess! A two-month COB period, and then they don't even want to take anyone? And the other groups being in contact with you as long as they were? Oy, I hope that the CPH gets their act together before they really start missing out on great women.

Hot mess indeed! So glad that you ended up with a bid to your #1 choice. Were you in a pledge class of 1, or did they bid other pnms?

Welcome to the bonds of Tri Delta! So glad it worked out for you. I hope your membership is wonderful! :)

I wish people on this site knew the meaning of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. A friendly message suggesting that I change my writing style would have been greatly appreciated, or even a private message just giving some CONSTRUCTIVE feedback. Calling someone a "drama queen" and saying that something they wrote was "ridiculous" is not constructive. It's really not. It's someone anonymous being a bully for no reason (I once again remind you that you are reading this entirely by CHOICE and it is as simple as a click of your mouse to get to someone else's thread). I came on this site with honest intentions of sharing my story and reading the stories of others, and I'm very sorry that I did not post it how you thought I should. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is always welcome, but to discourage someone from posting just because you don't like how they share their story is pretty pathetic.

Learn to read, chickie - I said your cliffhanger was ridic, not your story.

I also said that girls that drag their stories over an extended period are drama queens, you were the one that applied it to yourself.

I am able to pick a different thread to read, but I'm also able to read and comment on this one.

Between the codename change, the "not having time to write", and the dramatic cliffhanger, this story reads like fanfic. Let me be clear, since you obviously need it, I'm not outright calling it fanfic, I'm saying that the symptoms are there.

Congratulations! So glad it worked out and sorry some posters can't let it go and move on. Be nice everyone, it is not that hard.

Congratulations! How'd you like being a PC of one? The PC before mine was one, and then mine was almost half the chapter so it was amazing to us how someone could do it alone :)

Sciencewoman 06-20-2012 09:53 PM

Congratulations! I'm glad it all worked out!

I'm a little confused about what a story about informal and unstructured recruitment has to do with these lessons for formal recruitment.

What does this story have to do with bid day and handling emotions there, etc?

I feel like I missed something vital in this thread that links it to this advice.....

KSUViolet06 06-21-2012 10:25 PM

Hmmm.

DeltaBetaBaby 06-22-2012 12:45 AM

This thread...doesn't quite pass the sniff test, sorry.

Congrats on Tri-Delta...

But... jebus. A two-month long COB process? Does that even leave you enough time for a proper new member period? And then your chapter decides NOT to take any new members after two months of activities and commitment already? Without even reaching out to women to offer bids?

This does seem a bit A) fishy or B) seriously disorganized.
