I don't think AOII has any plans for a new chapter room. The original house plans called for a huge 300+ chapter room, but the price tag on the new house was so steep that those plans were abandoned. Common spaces don't add cash flow to the chapter - only bedrooms do.

The project is expected to take approx 15 mos. The chapter will be without a house for one full school year and reopen in time for fall recruitment in Aug 2013.

It was an incredible day on Saturday. Women of all ages came back to 'say goodbye' to the house, walk through the halls, find their old bedroom, etc. There were lots of hugs and even some tears. The actual groundbreaking ceremony was held on the front lawn. It was hot, but we were so thankful for clear skies!

Will they live together in dorms or will they live wherever they can for the next year?

I just worry about floor plans being posted, in case of nutjobs planning to do something awful. Yeah, I guess that makes me old.

The girls will have the option to live in a brand new apt complex opening this next year. They have dedicated one entire building of furnished apts for the chapter. Of course, girls can live anywhere they like but this will be a great option and most of the girls are living in the complex. We are also paying for our current house mom to live there next year and have rented a 3 br unit to serve as "kkg chapter officer headquarters." Chapter meetings, formal Monday night dinner, recruitment, etc will all take place at another location near campus.

Beautiful renditions and floor plan...my mind is boggled by the price tag...but that is the cost today...WOW
