Overheard some ladies talking about it while shopping. I didn't believe it till I saw the TMZ article.
Never thought Bobby would out live her. :( |

I've seen a huge outpouring of love from Whitney fans tonight and now that the initial shock is wearing off, people are showing their behinds. It's like Amy Winehouse all over again. I feel the same way now as I did then: It doesn't matter what hardships a person had (whether self-inflicted or not), there are things you just don't say about people while others are grieving them. There are some things you just don't say about people at all.
The things I'm seeing and hearing (elsewhere on the interwebz) are so distasteful. She had a huge influence on many lives and, more importantly, she was family to somebody no matter what she did. Now is the time to honor her memory or be indifferent if you want, not claim her faults as reasons no one should grieve her. |
How awful. She had such unimaginable talent.

A producer from the Grammy's says they are working with Jennifer Hudson on doing some sort of recognition to Whitney but it won't be a full blown memorial tribute because it is just too soon for that. |

I feel bad for Kristina, even though she is going to be 19, losing your mom is tough no matter what age. |

She frequently spoke in interviews about how similar she and Bobby were before they married. The image of choir girl and bad boy was a media creation, although I will say that once you put two people with those kinds of predilections together (along with all that disposable income and hangers on with a vested interest in keeping the party going), it's a recipe for disaster.
Reports are now saying she was found submerged in the bath tub and there were several people in the hotel room while it happened but no one was alarmed that she'd been in there for over an hour. Sad. |
Annie Lennox, from her blog, posted on FB:
"It's almost unbearable to think of yet another OUTSTANDING artist being prematurely snuffed out like a light…far too soon. I'm torn between the profound awe I have for the incredible voices of Whitney and Amy, and the horror I feel over the destructive natures of their respective demise. So many phenomenal performers have fallen between the cracks like this. It makes me feel so sad. I've been looking at YouTube clips of Whitney today, and reflecting on her tremendous rise to massive fame as a young woman. She had it all…Beauty..exceptional talent.. fame..wealth..But when the life/work/fame balance gets out of kilter, and you start putting drugs into the mix, it's completely toxic. What a terrible tragic waste. So sad." |
Bf & I caught it by accident on the CNN ticker last night during some random story. I thought my eyes were wrong, but Google quickly proved it true...
So young. RIP, Whitney. |
I remember the wonderful concert Whitney Houston performed for the returning Gulf War vets back in the early 90s. It was supposed to air only on HBO, but they decided to broadcast it more widely. She was such a gifted performer.
