I've decided to bring back an urban legend...
I had my kidney removed last summer, and I like to wear shirts that show my stomach, so the 6 inch scar across my midsection is pretty obvious. It's so much fun when people ask me about my scar to tell them "you know, this is really weird. I was at some party, and I don't remember what happened, but I woke up in a bathtub full of ice with a post-it stuck to me saying I was missing a kidney and to call 911" If they're drunk enough, they believe it. It's outstanding. |
Urban Legend from London ...
"The Tower of London's most celebrated residents are the colony of nine ravens. It is not known when they first settled here, but there is a legend that should they desert the Tower, the kingdom will fall. In fact, the birds have their wings clipped on one side, making flight impossible." A strange point of fact is that the only recorded time that there were no ravens at the Tower was in 1946. As this was just after World War II and England had come perilously close to falling maybe the legend carries some weight after all. |
Hey,
Just as this thread was started, MTV has this new show out called the "Big Urban Myth Show". It actually tests different types of myths to see if they're true or not. I'm a big fans of urban myths/ legends and now I sleep well at nite knowing the"forward this email" and recieve $ isnt ture nor alligators aren't in my sewers, and that public toilet seats dont carry as many dangerous germs as door knobs or your cell phone. |
Like others have posted, just go to www.snopes.com It has everything there.
