You really need to do this ASAP.

You're going to have more drama if you keep the same system of giving bids/initiating in place and then find out your bylaws state someone must receive an 85% approval from the chapter before the person can receive a bid. I highly advice getting a straight answer from your advisers and HQ much sooner rather than later.
