My mom's mom was Grandma Nick (Nick was part of her last name).

My dad's parents were Gramma and Grampa (my last name) or Gramma Ann or Gram (my Grampa died when we were still quite young, so really we called him *gurgle gurgle mumble something*.

Dad's dad: Died when I was like a month old.
Dad's mom: Grandma LastName. (more formal as we are not super close. She has like 70 grandkids and my brother and I lived 3,000 mi away from her most of our lives.)
Mom's mom: Granny.
Mom's dad: Granddad.

My maternal grandparents were called Nana & Pop's

I call my parents' parents Opa and Oma (they're Dutch and it's Dutch for Grandpa and Grandma).
My sister's kids call them (well, her actually, both by grandfathers passed away, as well as one of my grandmothers) Super-Oma (Super-Grandma) as not to confuse her with my parents who they call Opa and Oma.

Oma and Opa are also German, as that is what I call my grandparents on my dad's side.

As for mom's side, just regular old Grandma and Grandpa.

My brothers and I called both sets of grandparents grandma and grandpa. My kids call both grandfathers Papa. They call my husband's stepmom GrammyGram and my mom Mimi.

Maternal great-grandmother: Busia (Polish nickname - pronounced BOO-shuh)
My maternal grandparents: Granny & Grandpa
Paternal grandmother: Grandma (My paternal grandfather died before I was born.)

I miss all of them terribly. =(

I was fortunate to have 3 pairs of grandparents growing up, and 2 pairs are still alive. Two pairs are Gramma and Grampa, the third pair is Oma and Grampa.

This is such a sweet thread.

My maternal grandparents were Grandma Sunny and Papa. Sunny was the nickname that Papa gave her when she came to the U.S. from Belgium, and everyone called her Sunny.

My paternal grandfather was also Papa, and Grandma Kitty (short for Kathryn) is still living.

My kids say Grandma First name and Papa First name for both sets of grandparents. I always wondered why we didn't use first names for our Papas, so I made sure to use their names.

My maternal grandparents were Goka (closest I came to Grandma, and it stuck, as my grandmother didn't want to be called Grandma/Grandmother anyways) and Grandad.
Paternal grandparents: Grandmother and Grandfather (they were a bit more formal).
I loved them all dearly.

My kids' maternal grandparents: Grandma and Grandpa.
My kids' paternal grandparents: Mama and Papa.
They were/are wonderful grandparents.

My maternal great-grandmother was around until I was 13 and we all called her Busia.

I'm kinda hoping that when my parents are grandparents we can call them Busia & Abuelo. :D
