People who are ignorant of something are manytimes afraid of it and talk bad about it and the people who are in it!:(

I know at most schools, there is always a battle going on between Houses which is idiotic as we fight enuff for our way of life!

I have had guys come into my store and say they are going to so and so school! The first question is are you in a house there. Many times, they are finishing up so feel it is to late for them to join and say when they first went to school they heard bad things about Greeks. Well after getting to know Greeks, they wish they had really looked into it.

While I hate to admit it, we are the next to smallest house on campus and at one time we were one of the largest. We have had many problems and are trying to get them worked out at the present!

Life is like a bicycle of life, the wheel is always turning. Sometimes you are on the top and sometimes not!;)

Or another way to put it, is some days your the dog, and other days you are the fire hydrant:D

KSig R C were you at BU or BC?

There was one guy in my microeconomics class who i had talked to for a few weeks, and when i wore letters to class one day, he simply looked at me and said, "your a frat boy, i just lost alot of respect for you" what did i ever do to get judged like that.

The following is an excerpt from an actual conversation I recently had with a friend of mine who will be starting college next fall... and who really should know me better than this conversation indicates she does:

Me: "If you go to [insert my school name here] next year, you can do recruitment and maybe you might like my sorority."

Her: [half-incredulous, half-dirty look] "...No."

Me: "No what? You just don't want to be in mine? That's okay..."

Her: [firmly] "No as in no I am NOT joining a sorority."

Me: "...Um... may I ask why not? Just out of sheer curiosity?"

Her: [shrug + matter-of-fact tone] "...'Cause. They're all cults."

Me: "................"

That was about where I gave up. Also note that (a) this girl thinks the same thing about fraternities; (b) her boyfriend is Greek and she says the same sorts of things in front of him (referring to his chapter meetings as "his little cult thing," etc.)... and yet (c) she says she wants to be on my sorority's Relay For Life team this spring, even though she trashes the Greek system in the same breath. (Help me!! I'm drowning in the hypocrisy!!!)

For the record, even if her guy is really laid back, I give her relationship maybe a year, tops. I mean, how long would you put up with your significant other constantly verbally trashing something that means a lot to you?

i agree. it's so sad how greeks are misrepresented sometimes. like anything, the bad ones make the reputation for the lot. another thing that ticks me off too is the animosity towards non-greeks that some greek organizations feel. i think sometimes it's a two way street of bickering. anyone here familiar with the term GDI? i hate it! >.<
