^^^ I completely agree with the message. However, it seems more conducive to an early new member meeting, instead of recruitment. It was a pretty heavy message. That's just my gut reaction.

Agreed! While it's a hugely important message, I think it really depends on your campus. At a school where Greek life isn't widely known, I think it could scare people off. However, even though I'm finishing up my last term as a collegian, I think it's a great video/message.

Has anyone else noticed how all the rush videos are starting to look exactly the same? So many use "Rather Be," or a Lana Del Ray Song or some other music like that. They slowly pan on the sorority symbols, the decorations for bid day, etc. The girls are jumping in slow motion with flower garlands on their hair and then they switch to a party with a DJ and techno music. Don't get me wrong. I think they're cute, but they're beginning to look so generic. I think the DGs at FSU started the trend)

This is not meant to be snarky in any way, but what are bid day videos for? Do they give out copies to new members? Show them during the next recruitment? They are extremely well done, there is no question about that! However, they are clearly putting a fair amount of money into them,and I would ask to what end?

(To be clear, I am one of those people who doesn't love using videos during recruitment that are much longer than 2-3 minutes, and I think they should largely be limited to philanthropy and leadership related topics-to succinctly inform, pretty much.)
