okay I realize the OP has already decided not to go through recruitment, but in case any other U of A PNMs are reading this, I have something to say about grades.
Going into recruitment, I had a 2.8 high school gpa and I was terrified I was going to get cut because of it. I saw that only a few chapters had a minimum gpa low enough for me to get in. But I got recs and did tons of research and I ended up joining a house that has a 3.0 high school gpa requirement.
Not saying grades aren't important, BECAUSE THEY ARE. I'm just saying they are one of many factors. And while the first few rounds of cuts are generally made because of grades, its still possible to get a bid if you have other things going for you.
If you're deciding not to rush because you're afraid of getting cut because of your gpa, I think you're making a mistake. Its worth a try if its something you think would make you happy. But if its other reasons thats making you realize greek life isn't for you, then so be it. I just don't want you to not rush because you're afraid of getting dropped.
