Jazz, real jazz
I'm lucky to be in Southern California with America's No. 1 jazz station, KLON-FM out of Long Beach. I listen to it in the car, all night, and on the computer at work, since my building can't pick up radio waves. :(
Other favorite jazz stations are KSDS-FM in San Diego, KJAZ-AM in Los Angeles, KPLU-FM in Seattle, WBGO-FM in New York and KCSM-FM in San Francisco. I listen to these stations through the Web. When it comes to sports radio, I listen to XTRA-AM and KXTA-AM, both in SoCal, strictly for Jim Rome. I'm a clone. ;) :D  |
JIM ROME!
man this man is huge! I like Jim Rome also:)
Isn't he the only sports man that folks claim can make a grown man cry? When I go down to L.A. I listen to Big Boi. Power 106 is cool, so is Steve Harvey on 92.3 The Beat. QTE |
stations I like
Here in the city by the bay, I listen to a number of stations.
102.9---KBLX know as the Quiet Storm Contemp. Jazz and R&B 103.7---KKSF also plays Contemp. jazz and R&B 97.3----Alice(Sarah and Vinnie morning show) 98.1----KISS fm 70 & 80's R&B (Renel) 97.5----Z95.7 Semi top 40( they play semi-electronica also) 104.5---KFOG classic rock 101.3---Star101.3 --80's 102.1---KDFC Classical |
I love how Jim Rome sasses sports folks, and his listeners.
One time, he played a sound drop of Mike Tyson talking about eating Lennox Lewis' "chirrens" and did an imitation of him. ROFLMBAO!!! :D |
Re: stations I like
Ok you just made me homesick, I am in Alabama and there is no Jazz station, I always call the "Hip Hop" station here KBLX! LOL
What about the WAKE-UP Show with TECH-SWAY or did SWAY quit since he is on MTV? At home 106.1 KMEL! CHuey, Rosie, Renell, Evan....... Quote:

I'm in Detroit and listen to Russ and Olivia on 105.9 every morning. And although I listen every morning, I do not know all the characters names! Some listener I am, right!? :p I guess I'm too busy laughing to notice their names. But I love the "whatever hater" caller. That is too funny! I also listen to:
97.9 (hip hop, r&b) 95.5 (pop, hip hop, some light alternative) 93.1 (pop, dance, hip hop) 98.3 (hip hop-Ann Arbor station) 92.3 (old school r&b) |
Re: Re: Re: stations I like
It has been a good 5 years, so I might be a little out of touch! LOL :) But I will be home in December for Christmas and it will be so nice to listen to KBLX! Whatever happend to KPOO! Now that is way back! AM? :) And Berkeley back in the day and had a good underground station?? Off the subject a little, are there any decent clubs in the city?

Here is my list
My list of stations I listen to in Columbus are as follows
88.1 WCDR (Cedarville University Radio) Contemporary Christian 106.3 WJYD--Contemporary Gospel 103.5 WJZA--Contemporary Jazz 98.9 WMXG--R&B Oldies 103.1 WSMZ--Local Tom Joyner affiliate with blues and talk shows sprinkled in. 90.5 WCBE--National Public Radio and Public Radio International On the AM dial I listen to: 820 WOSU--National Public Radio (I gotta catch "All Things Considered" at 4:00 with the cool fanfare at the start of the show), and jazz with Bob Parlociccia at night. 1580 WVKO--Contemporary Gospel |
In Richmond I listen to...
WREJ ~ 1540 AM ~ Contemporary Gospel I used to listen to 93.9, 95.5, or 96.3 in Washington DC 93.9 had Russ Parr and Olivia 96.3 had Tom Joyner Now I don't listen to them |
I'm in South Florida and I listen to:
96.5 Power 96 (Pop, R & B, Hip-Hop) 99.1 99 Jamz (R & B, Hip-Hop, Gospel) 100.7 Y-100 (Pop, Rock, R & B, Hip-Hop) 105.1 Hot 105 (R & B Hits and Oldies) I like Hot 105 because they have the Tom Joyner Morning Show in the mornings, the Funk Jazz Lounge on Sundays from 11am-2pm, and the Quiet Storm. Only thing I hate about them is that they play the instrumental version of popular rap songs. For example, when that J. Lo and Ja-Rule song blew up, they played it, MINUS Ja's lyrics. So all the parts where he was rapping in the song, all you hear is the music. It sounded so stupid. 99 Jamz is a little too ghetto for me. They have this relatively new DJ on there named Big Lip Bandit (WTF?) and he's just too much for me. I only listen to them when there's absolutely nothing for me to listen to. At one point, they allowed Luke to have his own show on that station called the "Luke Springer Show". You can figure out what the deal was with that. |
I love Skip Murphy and the morning team on K104 (104.5). Skip Nanette, and The Wig are hilarious, and I love Gossip To Go with Flo Anthony (mostly because I am nosey).:p
