Lynn, Lynn, Lynn. Tell Hubby that even us notherners don't freeze our tootsies on the tile. I did my master bath floor last year in ceramic tile (sans heat), and it's a light gray. They are elongated tiles (something like 7 x 16) and they really make the bath look larger.

I had originally wanted to do a "pebble" border, but the cost of the border would have been more than what the total project cost turned out to be.
