I really hope I'm the only one who finds this completely inappropriate. I'm just waiting for PETA (or some other agency) to step in. You just don't do this to an animal, octopus or any other type. Common sense people!

It's pretty rad you've made your own a BRAND-NEW LATE-BREAKING issue that's happened since before you were born! Yay!

Common sense ahoy!

Please pull the stick out of your butt.

If you actually look at the link I posted, OMG, it was from yesterday.

No reason to be a rude #$%@.

I'm pretty sure I didn't hurt anyone by posting it.

Nothing makes my skin crawl and eyes bug out more than when people talk as if PETA is the go to group for protecting or saving animals.

Exactly.

My only problem with this is the waste of a tasty octopus. They could've cooked and seasoned that badboy and detached its parts for a tasty treat. Yum.

1) Obviously, PETA only cares about cute animals.

2) I actually like giving the cephalopods a chance to fly.

Totally Random:

Seeing octopus and PETA in the same thread made me think of this. James Bond is such a sexist invention. As much as I enjoyed all of those movies (technically only the Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and kind of Pierce Brosnan movies), there's so much sexism and patriarchy in them. I reminded myself of how Octopussy (the 13th Bond movie in 1983) was so darn sexist.

LOL but WOW.

Bitter much?

Dee, my family knows the guy who began the tradition. He is Italian and from the Downriver area :)

I think I've only had raw octopus once or twice.

LOL @ the OP being the only one in this thread who is outraged. Animal rights and common sense have multiple definitions.

From what I gather about PETA, it's really more their mission to rid the world of animals on the guise of protecting them. If there aren't any animals, people can't hurt them, right?

DrPhil 04-17-2011 01:46 PM

Yay @ Duck Hunt. Awesomeness.

They don't believe that people have the "right" to "own" animals, and that animals should be free. The problem I have with that is because of a thing called "domestication" most pet animals can't survive without some sort of human care. But no worries, that's where PETA comes in with their gas chambers. According to the PETA kills site PETA had a kill rate of 94% of animals in their shelter in 2010. I guess it's better to see dogs and cats dead than (gasp), a HUMAN adopting them.
