What a beautiful woman. I have always wondered what her background was. Most of what I've found has said she's Caucasian only, but she has an extremely exotic look.
|
LOL @ caucasian only. Does that prevent exotic looks?
All accounts just say she was born in Hampstead and her parents were Americans so I assume her parents were white. Since North American whiteness (race) consists of different ethnicities, I would be interested to know her parents' ethnic backgrounds. Her mother had a Switzerland background on her paternal side and I don't know what her father's ethnic background is. His background is probably also European. |
I guess that was a poor choice of words on my part, but I meant "not caucasian and ____"

Being caucasian and having ethnic backgrounds that are considered white do not preclude exotic looks. |
Many of the people I've seen with similar features identify as "Greek/Spanish/Portuguese/Black/whatever and white," so it made me wonder if she had a very prominent "other" in her background.
I think I just did a poor job of explaining what I was thinking. I realize that being white doesn't mean you won't look a certain way. |

Greek, Spanish, and Portuguese are "white" ethnicities. Are these ethnicities the "other" that you are talking about? Why would they be an "other?" Someone who racially identifies as white is not void of an ethnic background regardless of whether they know or divulge their ethnic background. So, are you really just wondering what her specific ethnic background is without assuming that it is a "nonwhite" ethnicity? |

ETA: I read that her father has an Italian background and read somewhere else that Elizabeth Taylor's ethnic background is "Welsh, Irish, English, Swiss, and Dutch." I don't know how accurate that is but it may explain the "dark features" (including dark hair) that some consider exotic. Makeup can explain the rest. :p |
I hate to say it, but celebrity deaths always seem to happen in 3's. Nate Dogg, Liz T.... one more.
