I've got cherry blossoms going all up the right side of my body, from my hip to my armpit. I think it's pretty badass. I've got 3 more, but not as cool.

I have a huge backpiece that I've just sort of started...I've got the outline all done, waiting for color because I have to see my tattoo artist in Pittsburgh, and I live in Oklahoma!

I got my Glasgow salmon almost three years ago on my right rib, then in May I had my tattoo artist do my Belfast seahorse on my left ribs, and in December he did a "sacred keystone" (Pittsburgh/PA) with water in the center of my back with water flowing out the sides and around to my ribs (to connect the whole thing). He also used the Latin motto of Belfast ("Pro tanto quid retribuamus"..what shall we give in return for so much) sort of arching over the whole thing. Next steps are to touch up my fish and make the lines heavier and the color match the rest of it, color in the waves, color in the flames/glow, color in the seahorse.

While I love it to pieces...getting tattooed on your ribs is not a fun process.

You lived over in the UK? I lived in Glasgow and Belfast for years! How I miss it.

I did! I lived in Belfast and wrote for the Irish News, and then went to Glasgow Uni for my postgrad. I miss Glasgow so freakin' much that it hurts and even went in October. I'm fortunate that my work is doing a lot of lending to the UK so there are some trips in my future!

I'm about to start the process of my half sleeve, the artwork just needs to be finished.
