ok first of all I never said dont get a lawyer, i just said that mine didn't need one. Cause I don't know how many members you org has or how much money everyones mommy's and daddy's give them but if it's a small group they're probably not gonna be able to afford a lawyer, so i'm just stating what i know.

Why are you getting defensive? The lawyer comment wasn't even directly related to your post.

FYI -- people can quote your post and then go off on another topic within the same post.

Chill out.

I was responding to her, and my statement stands: whether you need a lawyer (or insurance) and whether it's in your long term best interest to use a lawyer (or get insurance) are two different questions.

And sisterdawn, I am a lawyer, so I'm speaking from experience of what can happen when people assume they don't need one. Not what necessarily will happen, but what can.

I read it as you co-signing what previous posters had posted and not as calling her out as being wrong or anything.

Her response made it sound like you were personally attacking her.

Gotcha. No, I wasn't trying say she was wrong, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. More like sometimes people/groups think they'll be fine without legal advice when they'd really be better off with it.
