Just because you don't need Recs, doesn't mean that Recruitment is not competitive. UNC Charlotte holds No Frills Formal Recruitment so some see it as less of a big deal, but girls do get their hearts broken sometimes.

A few great recomendations could really set you apart from the pack, also make sure you have a solid GPA.

They also might ask you why you didn't go through Formal Recruitment before, so make sure that you have some positive reasons in your explanation.

When I said that recruitment here wasn't competitive I meant it compared to the SEC school level (where if you don't have a rec or a legacy it is very difficult!). I have some friends here that had a tough time during this past formal recruitment!

Hey, as a girl that is indeed Greek at UNC Charlotte, I can tell you that while recruitment is no frills and not as competitive as SEC schools, it is definitely still competitive. When I went through last fall there were over 300 girls rushing, not all of them got bids. You've got to be yourself....and still bring your A game :). Whoever you are, I hope to see you next fall.

For those of you that have gone through colonization recruitment- do you need to bring a resume or do they have something for you to fill out before your interviews?

For us they had forms to fill out about our personal info, extracurriculars and gpa at the colonization events.

It really can't hurt to bring it with you. The worst that happens is that they don't take it from you, and ask you to fill out some other form instead.
