The sock/sandal combo is less offensive than the highwater khakis!
Ah...I see Barbie noticed, as well! |
If you live somewhere that boots are used to actually protect your feet from the elements, fashion goes out the window in favor of whatever will get you from here to there in one piece dry and comfy. If you're from a mixed weather place, I'd go fashion, and boots are HUGE this year. I'm loving that the scrunchy ankle boots are back (woo hoo 80's!) but I haven't gotten around to buying a pair.
But it slays me that women wear Uggs in Dubai. Seriously people, fashion is fashion, but you're in the desert, and warm and toasty is NOT a selling point. Once you get sand in that fur, is it EVER coming out again? |
If you're in a very wet or cold climate, it would look "trashier" to walk around in stillettos or other inappropriate-for-the-weather footwear.
If you're wearing these (or Uggs or any winter boots) in a very warm, dry climate, you're an idiot and should have your high school diploma rescinded. And you should probably be beat to the death on top of it. |

PS - I love LL Bean. I get most of my inclement weather gear there. (Native New Englander) |

When I was in college (back in the day), L.L. Bean was right up there with Brooks Bros. as one of thee standard places to get preppy attire, and no one could consider themselves preppy unless they had at least one pair of duck shoes. |
