My heart breaks for her children. Despite what this church feels their rights are (and they are certainly entitled to freedom of speech....although people should reference Peggy Post before doing so) Elizabeth Edwards' children deserve the freedom to mourn in peace.

As a young woman of the Christian faith, Westboro Baptist's decision to protest Elizabeth Edwards funeral makes me sick. This poor woman was forced to deal with the death of her child, the PUBLIC infidelity of her husband, and cancer, and remained a very shining example of a strong, independent woman. I have always remained a fan of Ms. Edwards, regardless of my political affiliation, simply because she always stood up for what she believed in, regardless of the situation. She worked hard for healthcare reform, particularly after her diagnosis. Westboro Baptist is merely looking for attention it does not deserve, and in the process, ruining the memory of a wonderful woman. Ms. Edwards, thank you for your years of service to our country and being such a great role model as a woman leader.

WBC doesn't have the power to ruin her memory. Only people who take WBC seriously can allow it to that, and since SFAIK only WBC takes WBC seriously . . . .

Dr. Phil is right. I'd love to see the media agree to stop covering them.

Recently, when a hometown boy became a military casualty, and the WBC said they'd be there, the entire town got up early, and completely encircled the town, not allowing them to enter. Would that more places would do that.

These people are evil and ignorant. They know nothing about biblical principles and are a blight on this earth.
