It wasn't a restaurant, but...I was a teenager working taking tickets at a theater. This skeezy dude came up holding hands with his girlfriend. While I'm ripping the tickets, he bends way over and tilts his head to look at my chest from like five inches away. They walk in, and then he steps backwards, bends and tilts his head again to look at my chest from two inches away AGAIN, and says to me "God, are you small!" before walking away.

Holding hands with his girlfriend the whole time! I was like, what woman tolerates that kind of bullshit on a date? She was smiling!

Here's one...

I used to work at UNO's as a server. Our uniforms looked like this:

So I was serving this one couple, and I could tell when they arrived that they had already consumed a few drinks. They were being pretty obnoxious. The girl ordered her steak medium, and she said it was medium well... it was medium. She was being a real bitch about it, and I apologized and told her I'd get another one out to her quickly.

As I turned to walk away, she said to her significant other, "Maybe if she was smart, they wouldn't dress her like my 5-year-old nephew."

Awesome.

Diner in my college town...somehow, I'm the only actual college student that worked there, but most of the girls (boss blatantly states that she DOES NOT hire male waiters) are my age. This new-ish, wannabe-ghetto girl gets into it with another coworker on a Saturday. That next Monday, I'm working with ghetto girl, and she starts talking about how much she hates the prissy coworker (the one she started crap with), and that one Saturday, she was going to wait in the alley outside for prissy coworker to leave, then she was going to jump her and "cut a bitch". Thing is, I knew she was serious. I reported it to the boss, who fired her. The next few weeks, I made the guys in the kitchen walk me to my car every night. That chick was crazy.

Yes! I think any fast food place would qualify as a restaurant. Looking forward to some ice cream stories.

I used to be a grill cook at Bob Evans when I was an undergrad during my senior year, and I loved it. I've always been a very patient person, but after working there, now when I go out to eat, I'm more patient when my food is taking a long time. The only thing I didn't like about that job was when the servers would "table hop" and put all their orders in at one time.

Nothing too crazy but I do remember one situation. There were 4 schools in the immediate area of our store. 2:45pm and after, we would get really busy. One day, as the after school rush was upon us, a group of mean girls from the local public middle school (they had their school sweatshirts on) came into the store, bought some cones and went to the seats in the back of the store. A little bit later, a group of girls from the local parochial school (they had their plaids on) came through and also bought ice cream. I was busy helping customers so I didn't see how the whole thing started but I remember hearing and seeing the bully asian girl say "You think you're better than us because you go to private school!" I looked down to grab the money from the customer and then looked up and the girls were yelling back and forth at each other. We weren't allowed to leave the store while on our shift and we couldn't "get involved" so I told the girls to "take it outside" and so they did.

I have to go but will come back to finish the story!

When I was in highschool, I worked as a counter girl in a restaurant but, that only lasted a little over a week. I hated that job, so I just left. Then, I got hired at Auntie Anne's Soft Pretzels but, I didn't show up for my first day, because the summer job I was waiting for called me. It was at a zoo, which I loved. I mean, I felt kind of guilty for not giving a two week notice at the other two jobs, it's just that I hated one, and I wasn't going to pass up the summer job I wanted at the zoo for the other one. I was only 17, and I remember they let me work in the reptile, insect and spider exhibits. I loved the zoo job.

One of my fave parts of working in a restuarant?

People getting mad at ME because of the prices on the menu.

Customer: OMG. You're kidding me? WHY is a large Meat Lovers pizza $10.99!! You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Yes, I should be, because I'm the one who decides on the prices, not corporate.

If you are complaining about pizza prices, here's an idea, go home and cook something.

^^^For real. I gotta agree with "Santa Claus." That's astonishingly rude.

Come on, y'all. She said this was in high school. She didn't do this last week.
