The Knot is just like any other site, GC included. There are crazies and there will be smartasses. Annnnnnd, you can't tell too much detail about anything in your life because some people are crazy enough to take it THERE. Cyberbullying thread part 2. :p |
I'm on theknot only to keep my guest list. That feature is pretty good. I don't frequent any of the other areas but I'm a groom thankfully.
Don't get me wrong, I'm probably more involved in wedding planning than my fiance would like but its my day too. One thing I don't get is why women seem to become a whole different beast for 1 day; an important day, but one day. |

You mean the woman isn't just throwing an event for herself in which you just show up and say "I do?" I've been involved in quite a few weddings and more often than not, the wedding is refered to by the bride as "MY DAY" or "MY BIG DAY" and the grooms are generally of the "just tell me what to wear and when to be there" persuasion. |
What on earth do these bridezillas do on the knot?

Talk about their upcoming weddings.
Openly snark on other people's wedding plans. I mean, I know WE snark, but their snark makes ours look like Sunday school. The kicker: I popped over there when I saw this thread and saw that they have a wedding planning board for people who are NOT ENGAGED YET. It's full of people whining about how their boyfriends won't propose and asking questions like "Is it okay for me to book the venue even though he hasn't asked me to marry him yet?" Hilarious. |

(Even when I had to send him about ninety different inspiration boards with color schemes, because he wasn't completely satisfied with the one we had chosen.... He finally sent one back to me with a color combination he approved of... and it was good!) |

LOL I popped in on the boards over there I nearly died laughing at some of these women. Its kind of sad honestly...

I actually got some good ideas and advice from The Knot local board. The national boards can be rough, but actually I don't find most of the women to be that bad. A lot of the things they call women out on are really rude, etiquette no-nos. Soooo many people asking how to politely ask for cash gifts, how to ask guests to bring food to the reception, how to invite some people to the wedding but not reception (or vise versa), etc. If people are that rude and don't have the common sense to know how to NOT treat their wedding party, family and guests, they deserve to hear it.
