^^^ It is against their rules and code of conduct. It is their (the schools) policy and the school is not backing down. I believe the school does have the right to set their own policies on appearance as many in NC do so. IE - dress length, holes in jeans, low neckline, etc.

Agreed. Schools should be allowed to set rules, and I don't see not allowing piercings as any different than having a dress code.
At any rate, I could claim that I'm a Rastafarian and need to smoke up for my religion. You can bet that it would get me in trouble with school, with the law, and would certainly prohibit me from keeping my security clearance. |
ACLU filed a suit today. I don't believe they will win this one but who the heck knows.
