Theta Chapter took 48 new baby doves!!
|
theta eta at Unlv got quota +3 , 53 amazing beautiful girls :) this is the most we've ever taken and now the chapter is well over 115 sisters in the chapter. there theme was "love the dove" and on the back "stay fly. sigma kappa bid day 2010" I'll try to post pictures when I get home from work:)

Kappa Beta took 32! It was the school's largest recruitment EVER and a colony is starting recruitment next week!
|
I believe Alpha Gamma took 35. My understanding is that was quota.

Beta Zeta at the University of Maryland matched quota of 42 today. Quota is literally double what it was when I was there from 2004-2007 (22, 23, 21, 22)! It steadily increased to the higher 20s in the past couple years, but just last year it was 32, so it's over a 30% increase in just one year!

However, PHA is kind of in a bind. Alpha Phi and Phi Sig are going to begin massive renovations on their chapter houses after this semester, so they'll have their exec boards in the AXiD house. If the renovations only take 1 year, Fall 2012 would be the earliest conceivable time for a chapter to begin colonization. In the mean time, I wonder if they'll raise total. If they do begin extension earlier, Alpha Phi and Phi Sig will not be at a disadvantage to compete with a colony, even if they don't have a house, though it might be awkward if AXiD is chosen and they're colonizing while women from other chapters are living in their house. Then again, colonies generally don't have their members move in to the house until their second year. |

I think that because last Fall, only 6 of 14 chapters could participate in informal recruitment (of those 6, 4 could take 10 or fewer NMs), the culture changed at Maryland. PNMs are getting the message that formal recruitment is the time to join, that they can't just suicide/drop out if they don't like the chapters they have left and try again in the fall. Although interest has certainly increased, it hasn't doubled, since every chapter used to participate in informal recruitment in the fall (taking NM classes of 10-12 on average).
