You've got to be kidding. Not everything relates back to whether your dd can get a bid from her legacy group. There are only two reasons a sorority leaves a school with a Greek system that continues to exist: numbers or they've done something very bad. Most of these schools are in the south where Alpha Xi isn't strong or well known. Not that there's anything wrong with the group, it's just one of those regional differences.

Yeah that struck me as an odd response. Sigma Kappa is also not a "southern" sorority. We have excellent chapters in the south, to be sure, but not the large number of alumnae and the financial support that comes along with it. For us and with the other inactive chapters I see a lot of closings in the 70s and 80s as well as a few recent re-colonization fall-throughs and other closings. On the whole, about what you would expect.

That makes no sense.

It's the stronger chapters with tons of women lined up to join who can't take all their legacies. Unless, of course, you think it's a Boston Red Sox Curse of the Bambino type of thing.

I'd wager to say this.
I suggest if you would like more information on our southern chapters or our legacy policies you should contact FHQ.

DG's chapter designation is Alpha Nu. Were you an AEPhi at USC? If so, where was the AEPhi house? There are so many defunct sororities at SC, and the only one I can figure out is that AGD is now Alpha Kappa Psi (the business fraternity).

Are you talking about Southern California? Because the AKPsi house is not the Alpha Gam house.
